Boys' Soccer Falls to
PA
This was a very high
level match from start to finish for such an early season meeting. Brooks and
Andover battled furiously from end to end with both sides getting good chances
at the other's goal. Both defenses, however, were resolute, often forcing the
match into sterling midfield combinational play. Finally, PA broke the deadlock
with a penetrating run on the left flank that was followed by service and three
shots at goal before the winner in the 41st minute. The second half saw more
back and forth even play with Brooks just missing a finishing touch on numerous
occasions. Both teams tired from the pace of the match and the afternoon heat.
A counter-strike in the 88th minute with Brooks pushing for the elusive
equalizer salted the match away for the home side.
