Thrilling Win For Boys First Team Soccer
The First Team had a
thriling win this afternoon against archrival Belmont Hill 2-1. Belmont Hill
played a spirited match and jumped to a lead in the 33rd minute on a fine
finish. Jake Kotlier, who took a high service, turned, and volleyed a ball past
Glen Martin. Martin was very active throughout under some pressure from the
visitor's flank attacks. Brooks, after missing a couple of great opportunities,
combined well on a play with Elijah Soko finishing off a deft feed from Zach Vieira. The half
ended 1-1.
Soko struck again in the 56th minute, this time on fine service from
Jon Stronach out on the far left flank. Belmont Hill pressed the rest of the
way but were unable to find an equalizer. Sam Milbury and Stronach were
tremendous in the middle of the park and generated many offensive chances. It
was a very competitive match on a beautiful afternoon in North Andover.
